
When the opportunity to escape Toronto and head back to the West Coast came our way, we jumped. What began as “Oh, we should go to Haida Gwaii while we’re there,” became the highlight of the entire trip.
We flew into Prince Rupert during a pounding rain storm, grabbed the rental car, and headed to the ferry terminal. By the time the boat docked at Skidegate, the sun was out and the skies were blue.
The weather was clear for an entire week – a serendipitous but statistically rare occurrence on Canada’s iconic archipelago.
