The diversity and inclusion team at BMO Financial Group came to us with an interesting challenge: how can the organization celebrate a wide range of diversity champions from all over North America in a way that is inspiring, informative, and easy to share? We proposed a journalistic approach that integrated photos, personal-profiles, and a series of 300-word stories that recognized individual contributions to inclusion at BMO.
22 participants from 22 different cities were interviewed. 22 inspiring stories were written, 22 creative briefs were prepared, and 16 freelance photographers dispatched across Canada and the US. The internal campaign was launched June 27 (Multiculturalism Day in Canada). Here is a small selection of the 60+ final photos featured in the project.
